Terry Jordan is a Hattiesburg bartending institution. From his legendary residence at Purple Parrot Café to his current gig as Patio 44’s bar manager, Jordan has been wining and dining Hattiesburgers for over 20 years. Voted locally as 2015’s Bartender of the Year, Jordan has some sage selections when asked the following:

What would you serve someone who…

  1. … just got a life-altering promotion?

“Probably something with Scotch, like a Blood & Sand. Something that looks good in the guest’s hand, that they can feel good walking around with. When you come here to celebrate, we want to celebrate with you. So that or maybe just a glass of Champagne.”

  1. … just got canned from a job they fucking hated?

“I’d go with an Old Fashioned. Some good bourbon, nice bitters, a little bit of fruit. If you come in hurting I want to show you some love. No matter how someone feels when they walk in here, I want them to walk out feeling like a king.”

  1. … just wanted to get severely, egregiously drunk?

“Do they have a DD?” [Yes. Get blackout drunk responsibly, folks.]

“Okay (long, thoughtful pause)… tequila. Straight up. It’ll be your first drink, not your last, but it really sets the mood for the night. It’s gonna hang with you, so five hours later, you’ll feel that tequila shot tap you on your shoulder and say, ‘Remember me?’”
Whether you’re down for celebration, commiseration or stone-faced inebriation, Terry Jordan’s got you covered. Hit him up at Patio 44 in Hattiesburg on the weekends for all your intoxication needs.
