Many people don’t remember Jackson’s vibrant history of music festivals. This city once held several major festivals a year, featuring major acts and new artists mixed with local talent. The Jackson Rhythm and Blues Festival is continuing that tradition. This year, over 30 acts converged in the Jackson Convention Complex for one of the biggest concert lineups in recent years. On Saturday, DIME witnessed veteran artists perform, such as Babyface, Jagged Edge, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Tamia, not to mention the local flair of DJ Scrap Dirty, Tawanna Shaunte, Teneia and rising hip hop artist Silas.
